Rocky Hill, New Jersey
Rocky Hill lies in the southeast section of New Jersey’s Somerset County. It is named after the Rocky Hill Ridge, but at one time it was actually referred to as the Devil’s Featherbed. This name came about back in the days when wagons provided the main source of transportation. Travelers came up with the unflattering nick name due to the rough terrain in the area. Rocky Hill was incorporated by the New Jersey legislature as a borough in 1889.
Rocky Hill has many interesting places to visit, as well as outdoor parks and recreational spaces. Van Horne Park covers 96 acres of the borough. Here residents can walk the wetland trails, play baseball, soccer, or basketball, and let the kids enjoy the playground.
