Debbie Peel's experience making frequent moves and then not, is the perfect background for being a successful real estate agent in our area.
The moves that she and her husband made early in their careers (hers teaching history, psychology and political science; his computer services and consulting industry) involved international transfers. Rentals and purchases in foreign countries were in many ways eye opening experiences for the Ohio native. In the process she gained valuable insights to the nuances of the legal and technical details common abroad and how they compare with the practice of real estate in New Jersey.
Debbie also saw the differences in what staging could do and the huge impact of that old real estate motto 'location, location, location'. When they moved from London to Edinburgh, they were fortunate enough to find a place right near Princess Street and enjoyed a life where they could walk to so many of the wonderful places the city had to offer. In addition to becoming the Vice-President of the American Women's Club there, Debbie also took several courses at the University of Edinburgh including Scottish history, literature and architecture. She found the architecture courses most interesting which later has come to benefit her real estate clients. Later, when her husband's career brought them back to the US, they had the option of locating anywhere in the tri-state area.
Debbie chose West Windsor / Princeton, but planned to stay only two years and then look for an adventure out west. She so eloquently puts it, 'As a former history teacher, central New Jersey is so deeply entrenched in history. For a girl from the midwest, I am in awe of the history in which I get to live my life with my family. We have now lived in this area for nearly eighteen years. All of us have honestly loved every moment we have shared making our family dreams here in New Jersey. From the history, the arts, library, theater, university, shopping, access to hiking or skiing in the Poconos, the Jersey Shore, tubing down the Delaware River, wonderful schools to the excellent neighborhood restaurants in and around Princeton. Another wonderful aspect of living in this area is the proximity to many airports; we have Philadelphia, Newark, Atlantic City, Laquardia, JFK and now Trenton, which makes it super easy for those of us who love to travel. Currently we enjoy our membership at the Trenton Country Club (where she has served on both the house and pool committees), are members of the St. Charles Borromeo Church in Skillman, active in Bar Method and supporters of the McCarter Theater, Princeton Arts Council and Morven Museum & Gardens. Our two year plan to live in central New Jersey has grown into happy 18 years.'
